Job Purpose:

To independently manage and control day-to-day quality assurance activities across the denim manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with approved customer specifications, product standards, and internal quality requirements. The position is responsible for leading the QA team, preventing quality deviations, improving finished-fabric quality, reducing defects and rework, and ensuring that only conforming fabric is approved for dispatch.

Key Roles and Responsibilities End-to-End Quality Management:

Monitor and control quality from incoming yarn inspection through warping, dyeing, sizing, weaving, finishing, and final fabric inspection. Ensure compliance with approved yarn specifications, fabric construction, GSM, width, shade, strength, and other customer-specific requirements. Establish effective quality checkpoints and ensure implementation of approved SOPs and inspection standards. Coordinate with Production, PPC, Purchase, Finishing, Product Development, and Marketing to resolve quality-related issues. Ensure that quality requirements are understood and followed at every manufacturing stage.

Yarn Quality and Supplier Quality Management:

Monitor incoming yarn quality against approved specifications and supplier commitments. Review yarn test reports, count variation, CSP/strength, imperfections, hairiness, contamination, and other relevant parameters. Analyze yarn-related defects affecting weaving performance and finished-fabric quality. Coordinate with Purchase and suppliers for investigation, corrective action, replacement, and closure of yarn quality complaints. Maintain supplier-wise quality performance records and recommend supplier improvement actions. Ensure that nonconforming yarn is identified, segregated, and not released without the prescribed approval.

Process Quality Control:

Conduct regular quality audits across warping, dyeing, sizing, weaving, and finishing. Monitor critical process parameters and identify deviations that may affect fabric appearance, construction, shade, or performance. Review loom-wise defects, and other recurring quality issues. Work with Production to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Laboratory and Product Performance:

Supervise yarn and fabric testing according to customer requirements and approved test methods. Review test results for tensile strength, tear strength, shrinkage, skew/bow, colorfastness, GSM, width, and other applicable parameters. Ensure testing equipment calibration, maintenance, and recordkeeping. Investigate test failures and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant departments. Ensure that the applicable laboratory and testing procedures are consistently followed.

Shade, Sample and Specification Management:

Ensure availability of approved PP samples, TD references, shade standards, construction details, and customer-specific specifications. Ensure bulk fabric is assessed against the latest authorized reference and documented acceptance criteria. Monitor shade variation, lot-to-lot consistency, shade grouping, and segregation.

Customer Complaints and Corrective Actions:

Investigate internal quality failures and customer complaints relating to shade, contamination, fabric defects, strength, construction, and other performance parameters. Prepare technical investigation reports supported by inspection data, test results, photographs, samples, and traceability records. Conduct root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with responsible departments. Ensure timely implementation and effectiveness verification of corrective actions.

Team Management and Development:

Lead and supervise QA supervisors, inspectors, laboratory personnel, and other assigned team members.
